The Overview Page
After gProfiler is activated and has had time to profile code on the relevant clusters and environments, the Overview page is where you will find a breakdown of your profiling results, as well as the optimization opportunities gProfiler has identified.
Listed on the top left you will find the number of services being profiled, including the total number of nodes and cores. See a more detailed breakdown of the number of cores and nodes, creation and last update dates, and versions of gProfiler installed per service on the table at the bottom of the page.
Back to the top right of the page, you will see a box labeled Optimization Opportunities. In order from left to right, these are the functions that are eligible for the highest degree of optimization according to gProfiler. Click on the arrow elements to the right and left of this box to move the slider and see all the biggest optimization opportunities.
While DevOps and developer teams are encouraged to optimize manually on their own time, the Performance Improvement percentage shown is specifically what is attainable (and in many cases exceedable) by enlisting Granulate’s automatic optimization tools. In order to optimize via Granulate, just click on Get Optimization.
After clicking on Get Optimization and entering your email address, you’ll soon hear from a Granulate expert who will work with you to better understand your infrastructure and needs. If you determine you want to pursue performance and cost optimization, you’ll deploy Granulate and allow it to observe parts of your production environment that you choose (for example a certain cluster and all workloads therein).
Activating Granulate will then automatically optimize resource utilization in line with the workload’s needs to produce the most efficient result possible.
